Adam Miles, Founder & CEO
In 2017, Adam Miles left his successful career on Wall Street as a financial advisor, where he spent nearly 20 years working with venture capitalists, corporations, and wealthy investors. Before that, he worked for Honda Motor Co. in Ohio and Japan.
In 2005, Adam founded Bridges To America, Inc., the organization behind Refugee Soccer. He is intensely focused on growing Refugee Soccer and its rapidly growing flagship program #SheBelongs into a powerful, sustainable venture that endlessly creates moments of hope and happiness for refugees while fiercely supporting young women in maximizing their innate, often unappreciated, potential and brilliance.
Adam loves mountain biking, flying, his amazing girlfriend, and the four incredibly strong children and seven beautiful grandchildren who daily brighten his life. (Score: 9 girls & 2 boys.)

Kelly Murphy, Director of People Operations
Kelly Murphy is the founder of Lean in HR and a huge advocate for advancing women’s sports. A longtime NWSL supporter and founding member of Madison’s Rally FC, her passion for growing the women’s game led her to #SheBelongs.
Today, she works alongside founder Adam Miles to build awareness, strengthen partnerships, and expand the movement locally and nationally, bringing her expertise in business strategy, organizational development, and human resources to support its mission.

Carla Swensen-Haslam – Director
Carla currently works as a litigation attorney for Kirton McConkie, specializing in complex commercial litigation. Additionally, Carla has has immigration law experience working with asylum seekers on the United States/Mexico border. She is an acclaimed TEDx speaker and participates frequently in public events and panels to discuss recent immigration law and reform. Outside of her legal practice, Carla works as a sports broadcaster, becoming the first female in the state of Utah to call a men’s professional sport. Carla also works as the television color commentator for Utah’s female professional soccer team, Utah Royals FC.
Carla comes to Refugee Soccer with an immense desire to provide opportunities for both refugees and immigrants. As a dual-citizen of the United States and Colombia, Carla began playing soccer at a young age. It was through the beautiful game that she was able to travel the world, play with the Colombian U-20 National team, and be a part of an NCAA Division One soccer program at Brigham Young University (BYU).
